Safety tips
DRAFT for legal review — not yet approved. Do not rely on this wording.
Your safety comes first
Most people here just want to have a good time with other adults. But meeting strangers always carries some risk. These tips help you stay safe, stay discreet and spot trouble early.
Please remember: the age check only confirms that someone is 18 or over. It does not tell you anything about their character, health or intentions. We do not run background checks. You meet other members at your own risk, as our Terms explain.
Before you meet
- Look at their listing history and community posts. Does their story add up?
- Chat on the site first, using private replies. Take your time.
- If you want, do a quick video call first. It helps you check they are who they say they are.
- Trust your gut. If something feels off, you can say no at any point.
- Agree what you are both looking for before you meet. Clear talk avoids awkward moments.
Meeting for the first time
- Meet in a busy public place first, such as a café, bar or mall, not at a home or hotel room.
- Tell a friend you trust where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to be back. Send them a message when you are safe.
- Use your own transport, or a taxi or ride app you booked yourself. Do not let someone you just met drive you.
- Keep your phone charged and with you.
- Keep your drink in sight at all times. If you leave it, get a new one.
- Keep your wallet, ID and valuables secure.
Stay discreet
- Use a separate email address just for this site.
- Choose a display name that does not include your real name.
- Do not share face photos until you trust the person.
- Strip location data from photos. Our site does this for uploads, but other apps and messengers may not.
- Be careful with photos that show tattoos, your home, your car or your workplace.
- Think before you share your phone number, social media or where you work.
Scams to watch for
Scammers target dating and hookup sites. Watch out for:
- Advance payments. Anyone asking for money before you meet, for "transport", "load", a "deposit" or a hotel.
- "Verification fees". We will never ask you to pay to verify someone. Nobody else should either.
- Sob stories. Sudden emergencies, sick relatives or lost wallets that need money now.
- Moving off the site fast. Pushing you to another app straight away, often to avoid our moderators.
- Blackmail and sextortion. Someone threatens to share your photos, videos or chats unless you pay.
If it happens to you:
- Never pay. Paying usually leads to more demands.
- Stop replying, but do not delete anything.
- Keep evidence: screenshots, usernames and dates.
- Report it to us through the report button or Contact.
- Consider reporting it to the police. Sextortion is a crime.
Asking for or offering money for sex is not allowed here. See our Community Rules.
Sexual health
- Use condoms, every time, with every new partner.
- Get tested regularly for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Many clinics in Cebu offer free or low-cost, confidential testing.
- Ask a doctor or clinic about PrEP, a medicine that can greatly lower the risk of getting HIV when taken as prescribed.
- Talk openly about health and protection before you meet.
Consent
- Agree clearly before anything happens.
- Consent can be withdrawn at any time, even halfway through. Stop when asked.
- Someone who is very drunk, high or asleep cannot consent.
- Saying yes to meeting is not saying yes to sex.
Alcohol and drugs
- Alcohol lowers your guard and your judgement. Know your limit.
- Do not take anything offered by someone you have just met.
- Illegal drugs carry serious legal penalties in the Philippines.
- If you feel suddenly very drunk or unwell, get help at once. Tell staff at the venue or a friend.
If something goes wrong
- Leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation.
- If you are in danger, call 911, the national emergency number in the Philippines.
- For sexual or gender-based violence, you can go to the Women and Children Protection Desk at any police station. [LAWYER/OWNER: confirm current hotline numbers and support services in Cebu before publishing.]
- Get medical help as soon as you can, especially after an assault. Doctors can give emergency treatment and help keep evidence.
- Keep messages and other evidence. Do not delete your account straight away. Your records may help an investigation.
- Tell us through Contact. We can preserve records and work with the authorities.
Report and block on the site
- Report. Use the report button on any listing, post, comment, profile or private reply. You can also report through Contact, even without an account. Reports are confidential.
- Block. Blocking stops a member from contacting you. Contacting someone after a block breaks our rules.
- Report anything involving under-18s, trafficking or someone being forced at once. We report these to the authorities.
Our moderators check reports and act on them. In serious cases, they can remove someone from the site straight away.
Your privacy controls
In Settings, you can choose who sees your listings, profile and posts: everyone, signed-in members only, or Community Members only. You can download your data at My data and close your account at Close my account. Read more in our Privacy Policy.
Stay safe, look after each other, and have fun.
