Who we are

Hookup Cebu (hookupcebu) is run by [LAWYER: legal name of the operating holding company], a company registered in the Philippines with its address at [LAWYER: registered address] and registration number [LAWYER: SEC registration number]. In these terms, "we", "us" and "the site" mean that company and the Hookup Cebu website. "You" means anyone who visits or uses the site.

Hookup Cebu is an adults-only community and listings site for people who live in or visit Cebu. It grew out of the Reddit communities r/HookupCebu and Cebu Hookup. It is for singles, couples and swingers who want to meet other consenting adults for casual hookups. Discretion and safety come first.

These terms are a contract between you and us. By ticking the "I am 18+" box, creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

These terms work together with our Privacy Policy, our Community Rules and our Safety Guide. The Community Rules form part of these terms.

You must be 18 or over

The site is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, you must leave now. You must not use the site at all.

You must also be old enough to see adult content where you are. If adult content is not allowed where you live or where you are travelling, do not use the site.

We take age very seriously. Anyone who tries to get round our age checks, or who shows or involves anyone under 18 in any way, will be banned. We may report them to the authorities.

The three levels of access

Viewer. You do not need an account. After you confirm you are 18 or over, you can see listing titles (with explicit words hidden) and the community sections. Photos are blurred.

Registered User. This is free. You need a confirmed email address and your date of birth. You can read everything, but photos stay blurred. You can vote, react, save posts, and post and comment in the community sections. You cannot post listings, comment on listings or send private messages.

Community Member. You have passed an independent age check. You get full access. You can post listings, comment on listings, send private replies and see photos.

We may change what each level can do. If we make a big change, we will tell members first.

Paid membership

The site is free at the moment. If paid membership is introduced, its price and terms will be shown before you pay. You will not be charged for anything without agreeing to it first. The age check

To become a Community Member, you must pass an age check. An independent provider, Didit (Didit Identity), does this on its own page. You take a photo of an ID document and a live selfie. Didit matches your face to the ID and checks your date of birth. It declines anyone under 18.

We only receive the result. We keep whether you passed, that it was an ID check, the country of the ID, and Didit's reason codes if you were declined. We never receive or keep your ID image, your selfie, your name from the ID, your ID number or the date of birth on the ID. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.

If an ID shows that you are under 18, we close your account straight away. Moderators review the case. We may report it to the authorities.

Please understand what the age check does. It confirms that a person is an adult. It does not tell you anything about their character, health, intentions or honesty. We do not run background checks.

Your account

When you sign up, you must give true information. Your date of birth must be your real one.

You must keep your password secret. You are responsible for everything that happens on your account. If you think someone else has got into it, tell us through Contact straight away.

One person, one account. A couple shares one couple account. You must not create a new account to get around a suspension or ban.

You must not sell, lend or give away your account.

Your profile and privacy choices

Your profile can show a display name, your profile type (for example single man, single woman or couple), your age (worked out from your date of birth), your nationality or "Local", your area, an "about me" text, your interests and a picture chosen from our own set of symbols. You cannot upload your own profile photo at the moment.

You choose who can see your listings, profile and community posts: everyone, signed-in members only, or Community Members only. You can change this in Settings.

Please think before you share anything that could identify you. Once other people have seen something, we cannot make them forget it.

Listings, posts and messages

Listings expire after a set number of hours. Community topics stay up until they are removed.

Private messages are only between Community Members, and they always start from a listing.

Moderators do not routinely read private messages. They can read a conversation only when it is reported, or when it is needed for safety or legal reasons. Every time this happens, it is logged.

Photos and video

Photos and video on listings are switched off at launch. If we switch them on:

• only Community Members will see them; everyone else will see a blurred copy
• you must confirm that everyone shown is 18 or over and has agreed to be shown and to have the image posted
• we remove location and other hidden data from photos, and blank the location and date data in videos
• your first uploads will be checked by a moderator before they appear
• you do not have to show your face, and we encourage you not to

You must never post an image or video of anyone without their consent. Doing so may be a crime under the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act (RA 9995).

What you must not do

The Community Rules set out what is and is not allowed. In short, you must not:

• involve, show, describe or seek anyone under 18, or anyone who looks underage, in any way
• buy or sell sex, or offer or ask for money, "donations", "gifts" or anything else of value in exchange for sex
• advertise escort services or prostitution
• take part in or help human trafficking or exploitation of any kind
• post anyone's image, name or details without their consent
• threaten, harass, stalk or blackmail anyone
• post hate speech
• scam, defraud or impersonate anyone
• reveal or hint at who another member is (doxxing or outing)
• break the law or help anyone else break it
• try to hack, scrape, overload or interfere with the site

These rules reflect Philippine law, including the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act (RA 11930), the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act (RA 9208, as amended by RA 10364 and RA 11862), the Cybercrime Prevention Act (RA 10175) and the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313).

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. But to run the site, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, show, copy (for back-ups), resize, blur and remove your content on the site. This licence ends when your content is deleted from the site, except for copies we must keep for legal reasons or for open moderation cases.

You promise that you have the right to post what you post, and that it does not break these terms or the law.

We do not check everything before it appears. We are not responsible for what other members post. But we will act when we learn about content that breaks the rules.

Moderation and enforcement

We have moderators who look at reports and review content. We also use a filter that blocks certain words.

Anyone can report a problem, even without an account, through Contact. Members can also use the report buttons on the site.

If you break these terms or the Community Rules, we may:

• remove or hide your content
• give you a warning
• restrict what you can do
• suspend your account for a time
• ban you permanently

Usually we go step by step. For serious cases, we may ban you straight away. Serious cases include anything involving under-18s, trafficking, selling sex, posting someone without consent, threats and scams.

We keep a case file for each moderation case, including copies of the evidence. This lets us make fair decisions and answer appeals.

Appeals

If we take action against your account, you can appeal. You can do this from your account status page or through Contact. A different moderator from the one who made the first decision will look at your appeal where possible. Working with the authorities

We will report to the authorities any content or activity involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of children, human trafficking, non-consensual images or video, or serious threats. We do this because we must, and because it is right.

We respond to lawful requests from the police and other authorities. We log each request and its deadline. When the law or an investigation requires it, we may freeze records (a "legal hold") so they cannot be deleted, even if you close your account.

Closing your account

You can close your account at any time at Close my account. You can download a copy of your data first at My data.

We may close or suspend your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop running the site.

After an account is closed, we keep some data for a time and then anonymise it. The Privacy Policy explains how long and why.

Meeting other members: your own risk

Hookup Cebu is a place for adults to find each other. We do not arrange meetings. We are not part of any meeting or relationship between members.

We cannot promise that other members are who they say they are, beyond what the age check confirms. We do not run background checks. We do not check members' health, criminal records or intentions.

You meet other members at your own risk. Please read our Safety Guide before you meet anyone.

The site is provided "as is"

We work hard to keep the site running and safe. But we cannot promise that it will always be available, free of errors or free of harmful content. We may change, pause or stop any part of the site at any time.

Limits on our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it, for example for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or your rights under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and consumer protection laws.

Apart from that:

• we are not liable for what other members do, say or post, online or offline
• we are not liable for any loss or harm from meetings between members
• we are not liable for indirect losses, such as loss of profit, reputation or opportunity
• our total liability to you for any claim is limited to [LAWYER: cap, e.g. the amount you paid us in the last 12 months or a fixed sum in PHP]

Your responsibility to us

If you break these terms or the law, and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses. [LAWYER: confirm whether an indemnity clause is enforceable and appropriate for consumers under Philippine law.]

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we make a big change, we will show a notice on the site and ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. We keep a record of which version you accepted and when. If you do not accept the new terms, you can close your account.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute will be heard by the courts of [LAWYER: venue, e.g. Cebu City]. [LAWYER: consider whether to add a mediation or small-claims step first, and the position of foreign visitors.]

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
